Hello my web stunted friends! Today I’m going to teach you how to track the music you’re listening to on last.fm, especially for one special local band that needs your support!
Here’s what you need to do:
1. Sign up at last.fm. It’s as easy as opening your mouth and saying nothing.
2. Download the last.fm scobbling application. Scrobbling is the term for tracking the music you’re listening to on your preferred music player. The music you’re listening to is saved as a list on your last.fm page. Remember your login name and password as you might need to put that info in when you load up the last.fm application after installing.
3. Install the last.fm application. This should load every time you open up your music player. In the taskbar on your desktop, it looks like a ball. When it’s pink, it’s scrobbling. When it’s grey, it isn’t scrobbling. You can double click the ball to open the app on screen or right click it to give you some quick options.
4. Download The Bookoos music. Scientific studies have shown that listening to the Bookoos lowers stress levels, heightens sexual arousal and lengthens the life of your pets (non-reptilian)! Amazing!
5. Don’t know what a rar file is? It’s like a zip file, but better. If winzip doesn’t open it, download 7zip. It’s free! Legally! Install it!
6. Now, extract the Bookoos folder from the rar file somewhere; to your music directory or your desktop. You should be able to drag the Bookoos folder from inside the archive box to your folder or desktop.
7. Load up your music player. Did the last.fm application start also? Awesome! If it didn’t then load it up from your windows menu.
8. Load up the Bookoos music. Either open the directory from within your music player or drag the Bookoos music folder onto your music players playlist (or screen)
Play the Bookoos music. Feel the burn!
9. Open up the last.fm application. Is it scrobbling? You should see a bar at the top showing a time line. It’s working.
10. Repeat the album infinitely and turn down your speakers when you want to give the music some privacy. We all need some privacy, don’t we? That’s right just let it play and play and play.
You can take comfort in knowing that while you’re sleeping the music of the Bookoos is being cradled softly against the bosom of the “teh interwebs”
11. Last but not least, THANK YOU!
